Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers make sense of food information without recycling package language as fact. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to judge the question, scope and approach.
What we welcome
Strong proposals might explain a confusing label term, compare food formats for a clearly defined cooking task, unpack the limits of a sourcing phrase, or examine how flavour language is used. We value original angles, plain explanations and examples that do not depend on unsupported claims.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central question, the reader it serves, the main points you would cover and what makes the approach distinct. Be specific about evidence or sources you would use, disclose relevant interests, and flag any claims that need specialist review. Avoid pitches built around a guaranteed health effect or a universal best choice.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a concise outline and any relevant links or source details in your message. A proposal is not a commission; we will consider its fit with the publication and the care the subject requires.
A label is a claim, not a verdict
We look at the wording, the context and the trade-offs. A confident phrase on a packet does not settle what is best for every table.
